Our Story of health and nutrition

How we heard of real nutrition and NeoLife supplements

Dwight's story:
My husband learned of NeoLife (then called GNLD – Golden NeoLife Diamite, so named for the conglomerate of their products) back in 2001.  Then a bachelor, he worked craft shows and traveled long distances, surviving on Mt. Dew and junk food, and very little sleep at times. Yikes! His mother had fed him well, but on his own, he trashed his health quickly. After 2 years of thrashing his body, he wound up with boils on his legs, his energy GONE, and feeling aged and tired.

He then tried everything his Mother would throw at him … but nothing helped.  It was at this point in his life that he realized how valuable his health really was.  He would have paid anything to get his health back.  He could buy a new car, new clothes, new house, anything ... but he only got 1 body.  It was an irreplaceable asset that he had taken for granted, but now began to really consider of importance.

On an intentional visit, his cousin, who's wife had been helped with her depression issues with GNLD, introduced him to GNLD and got him on a “program” including multivitamins and grain oils (Formula IV Plus), enzymes, anti-oxidants (Carotenoid Complex), omega's (Salmon Oil Plus), etc. All good stuff!!! Within the first few weeks,

his boils completely dried up, his energy returned,

and he began to feel like living life again.

But Dwight's a skeptic. Not willing to accept his own “testimony” as proof of the product, he began to do his research. What he found impressed him immensely. No red flags! No scary, hidden ingredients. No wondering if he would drop from the “high” he was feeling.  These products that were helping him were backed by over 40 years of science (at the time).  These were not just fad-jumping marketers, as many nutrition companies turn out to be ... they were actually doing the real deal in research and discovery of how the body really works.

  •  There were studies published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (a peer-reviewed scientific journal).
  • There were studies done by the USDA itself.
  • There was study after study done by GNLD scientists themselves that showed that they were working and discovering things in the field of nutrition.
And there was Dr. Arthur Furst.

When Dwight visited GNLD headquarters, he got to meet the head of the Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Arthur Furst.  This small-in-stature man introduced himself to Dwight, "Hi, I'm Art."  His humble introduction stopped Dwight in his tracks!

Here was a man who had several initials after his name.
Here was the man who helped write the Clean Water Act for the United States of America.
Here was the man who's bronze bust was in the London Hall of Wisdom.
Here was the man who invented oral chemotherapy, but walked away from it stating that it was too late in the game.
Here was the man who was part of the Wold Health Organization!

"Hi, I'm Art."

He then told Dwight the most valuable words ever ... "Dwight, thank you for doing the hard part."

The hard part??  He went on to explain that " we can do all the research and product development in the world, but it won't help anyone unless they put it in their mouths."

Dwight was blown away and set out on a mission to tell as many people as he could about the wonderful nutrition he had found ... and the wonderful people who were at the core of the company.

He also learned that from its inception 58 years ago, GNLD was helping people overcome major health issues all over the world!  GNLD is all over the world, helping people in Mexico, South Africa, Europe, and South America.

People started asking Dwight about his health, and he would point people towards NeoLife products. He soon had several people asking him to do presentations in their homes, as many of their friends were interested, too. Word spread, and his business started organically … via word of mouth. People started getting good nutrition in their bodies and their health conditions began to change.  And equally as important, they were learning for themselves what real nutrition was.

A good friend of ours came totally off his heart medication, lost several pounds and sizes, and had a new lease on life.
A young boy, suffering from Alopecia Areata (baldness on his head and body), grew all his hair back like a chia pet, putting his immune diffiency in remission.
Another friend who had been trying to get pregnant, finally got pregnant by adding Tre-en-en and Vitamin E.
More and more stories began to flood in, and ...

people's lives were forever changed.

My story:
I was one of those people that learned about nutrition for the first time, during one of Dwight's presentations. It was not a talk full of hype or “try this!” and you'll "feel better" as many often are. He hardly even mentioned that you can make a commission off sharing NeoLife.

Instead, he talked about the body, cellular nutrition, how your body gets its fuel, it's nutrients. He talked about other companies and what they put or don't put in their products. He talked about NeoLife and why they do what they do. And I bought my first box of Formula IV Plus (the basic multi-vitamin with grain oils).

I was a teacher back then. By the end of the school-day, I was usually wiped out with little desire to go home and cook a good meal. Fast food was always a good option for me in the evening. I knew nothing about nutrition and had gained quite a bit of weight in college.  But I began to take my supplements each day and almost immediately found that my energy lasted through the evening. It was not a spike or boost (like caffeine or sugar), but sustained and healthy-feeling. I felt “normal” instead of wiped out.  Little by little, I would add a bottle of something that I knew would help me in another area. I added B Vitamins and Calcium-Magnesium, for women's health. I added anti-oxidants (Carotenoid Complex) and omega's (Salmon Oil Plus) for cardio and immunity health. And I began to lose weight and feel really healthy for the first time in my life.

Dwight honored for helping others:
A year and a half later, Dwight won a continental award with NeoLife (then GNLD): Rookie of the Year for the entire North American continent. He had shared his story and educated hundreds of people across the country. He couldn't help himself. He loved helping others experience a better quality of life. There was such confusion out there in the nutrition industry. To find something that you can actually understand and believe in … it's rare.

Today:

That was over 13 years ago! We were married in 2003 (which is a whole other story!).  Life got busy as we settled down and began to have children.  We focused on all the other areas of life that were before us: like marriage, child-rearing, farm life, and business.  The financial freedom that we were afforded by NeoLife gave us much time to spend in other areas of life.  Dwight - ever an entrepreneur and visionary, has started 2 other businesses since NeoLife, but never has he stopped sharing the benefits of NeoLife with others.  He would gladly acknowledge that his NeoLife business was the best $49 he ever spent, and he has been enjoying the residual paychecks and headache free operations ever since.

As I write this today (in 2014), we are expecting our 8th child (update: 2016 expecting #9). My health has been wonderful throughout each pregnancy and our children have thrived both in the womb and out. We have had 7 home-births so far, with minimal complications.  We are sooooo blessed to have had access to really good nutrition throughout these years. NeoLife supplements are not super-pills or snake-oil remedies. They're not herbal stimulants or sugar-spiking concoctions. Just pure and simple good food for your body.

We're just normal folks
Don't get me wrong … we haven't done everything right all along. We're not super-fit, exercise-addicted, perfect-diet, models of health. We're just normal people, who sometimes forget to take our vitamins and have set-backs (see my post HERE). Sometimes I buy frozen meals from Costco (NO!). Sometimes we eat fast-food (Double NO!). Sometimes we make our own bread, sometimes we buy it. Sometimes we eat lots of brown rice, stirfrys, salads, and more. And sometimes, I'm in survival mode and compromise by throwing in a pizza.  Sometimes we eat too many carbs and I have blood sugar spikes.  Sometimes I over-do it and have to rest. Sometimes our compromises take their toll on our energy. Sometimes I eat too much sugar and carbs and gain too much weight. We get passed our fair share of germs and bugs … but have only been to the doctor once (for illness) in our marriage, children included.  Usually, illnesses can be dealt with at home by boosting our immune systems and using essential oils.

Overall … over the last 15 years … we've experienced wonderful blessings of health and wellness. NeoLife nutrition is the same. It's still good food for your body. It's still good for pregnant mamas, young growing children, people suffering from heart conditions, auto-immune diseases, cancers, and other ailments. It's still good for the family … and good for the next generation.

That's our story …
